Common Keywords

These keywords define special rules that may apply to any player or NPC character.

Ambusher

An NPC with the Ambusher keyword cannot be seen by a player until either the player successfully makes an unbound Perception Feat, or the NPC makes a tactics or combat action.

Anchored

An NPC with the Anchored keyword is not able to move of their own accord. They cannot gain strike on another player or NPC unless that player or NPC gains strike on them.

Arcane Sight

A player or NPC may ignore the effect of the Shrouded rule if they have the Arcane Sight keyword.

Blinding

A player or NPC must successfully roll a Perception check to attack a Blinding target. This check must be made in every turn of combat.

Camouflaged

A player or NPC with the Camouflaged keyword cannot be seen, or targeted by an attack or any other ability by any other player or NPC, except for friendly characters who also have the Camouflaged keyword.

Charming

A player with the Charming keyword will receive a small discount when purchasing items from market vendors.

Contemptuous

A player with the Contemptuous keyword will automatically succeed when Evading combat. They must still use an Action Point to Evade combat.

Disorientating

A player or NPC must successfully roll a Mind check to attack a Disorientating target. This check must be made in every turn of combat.

Extrasensory

A player or NPC may ignore the effect of the Camouflaged rule if they have the Extrasensory keyword.

Fearful

A player or NPC with the Fearful keyword must treat all enemy players or NPCs as if they have the Terrifying keyword.

Frozen

While a player or NPC has the Frozen keyword, they cannot perform any actions.

Inspiring

A player or NPC who has the Inspiring keyword, or who is on the same hex tile as a member of their warband who has the Inspiring keyword, will automatically pass all combat checks for targets with the Terrifying keyword.

Incorruptible

A player or NPC may not have hostile keywords applied to them while they have the Incorruptible keyword.

Lured

A player or NPC who gains the Lured keyword will immediately lose Vantage or Strike if they have it, and may not gain Vantage or Strike.

Lupine

A player with the Lupine keyword will automatically succeed when gaining Strike on an enemy. They must still use an Action Point to gain Strike.

Monstrous

A Deathblow attack has no special effects on a player or NPC with the Monstrous keyword.

Overwhelmed

A player or NPC with the Overwhelmed keyword may not attack or use damage-causing abilities.

Peaceful

An NPC with the Peaceful keyword cannot gain Vantage or Strike on a player or other NPC. If a player or other NPC gains Strike on them, they may fight normally.

Perceptive

A player with the Perceptive keyword is able to see hidden resources on a hex.

Shielded

A player or NPC with the Shielded keyword receives half damage from all sources, rounding up.

Shrouded

A player or NPC with the Shrouded keyword cannot be seen, or targeted by an attack or any other ability by any other player or NPC, except for friendly characters who also have the Shrouded keyword.

Skittish

If a player attempts to gain Strike on an NPC with the Skittish keyword, the player will always fail to gain Strike. The NPC will automatically Evade combat.

Stunned

A player with the Stunned keyword will get 1 less Action Point at the start of each turn. An NPC with the Stunned keyword may not gain Vantage or Strike in their turn.

Terrifying

A player or NPC must successfully roll a Bravery check to attack a Terrifying target. This check must be made in every turn of combat.

Untouchable

While a player or NPC has the Untouchable keyword, they may not be targeted by any attacks or be affected by any ability.
