Attacking

TO DO

Once you have gained Strike or Vantage on an enemy, you can attack them by spending an action point, however combat will be the last action of your turn. Even if you have multiple action points remaining, once you have attacked, you will not be able to make further actions. There are some special abilities that allow players to attack multiple times in one turn.

If you have Strike on an enemy, your attack will be made with your equipped melee weapon. If you have gained vantage on the enemy, your attack will be made with your equipped ranged weapon, and will use up one of your equipped Shot items. If you have no Shot items remaining, you cannot make an attack.

Choose the targeted enemy and make an attack roll. An attack roll compares your Strength versus the enemy's Toughness. If you are using a ranged weapon, the weapon's sterngth value will be used instead of your character's strength statistic. The stronger your attack is, or the less resiliant your target is, the lower the required roll will be for your attack to be successful. If your attack roll is equal to or higher than the required roll, your attack succeeds.

If the attack is successful, the enemy will be assigned an Armour Save roll. If their rolls succeeds, they will receive no damage. If they fail the roll, they will receive damage equal to the Damage value of your equipped melee weapon, or your equipped Shot item in the case of ranged attacks. The enemy must subtract the damage amount from their Health.

If your attack roll was a 10, the attack is a Critical Hit. The enemy may not make an armour save roll and receives the relevent amount of damage immediately.
